About Us
What is The Tennessee
Claims Association?
The Tennessee Claims Association (TCA) was established in 1955 as the
"State-Wide Claims Association" for the State of Tennessee with a small handful
of adjusters from each of the larger cities in the state. The intent in forming
the association was to foster good working relations between adjusters in
different locations by allowing personal interaction at meetings and other
events. The membership and participation has grown from that small handful to
well over 1000 participants from all areas of the state. The TCA of today is
made up of seven local associations throughout the state and is governed by a
board of directors consisting of a representative from each local association as
well as the two previous past-presidents of the association.
OUR MISSION STATEMENT
The Tennessee Claims
Association is an organization of seven local chapters comprised of Insurance
Adjusters and supporting professionals whose primary purpose is professionalism
and personal development through continuing education.
MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS
The membership of the Association shall be composed of all persons primarily
engaged in the investigation, adjustment, and/or appraisal of insurance claims
on the behalf of insurance companies and self insurers in the state of
Tennessee. The active membership will be composed of all dues-paid persons as
set forth in the preceding statement.
It is at the discretion of each local association to permit associate members
into their association. Associate members to the association must be actively
involved at work in the claims industry as support or in related activities that
support the claims industry. Associate members are afforded all the rights and
privileges of TCA membership with the exception of voting and/or holding elected
office.
Any member who leaves the claims profession and who changes to a profession not
related to claims during the calendar year will forfeit any right to office,
attendance at monthly meetings, or any other functions held in conjunction with
the local association afforded such members. Members who are actively seeking
continued work in the claims profession will still be welcome to attend and hold
office until such time as they voluntarily step down or their term expires or
their eligibility changes. Eligibility is subject to Executive Committee.
Active members who retire from the claims profession and who have been an active
member for at least ten years before their retirement will be eligible to be
considered paid up members for life and will be entitled to all considerations
afforded current dues-paid members. A list of all such members will be
permanently kept by the Secretary of the Association. Eligibility will be voted
on by the Executive Committee. Membership dues shall be established by the TCA
Executive Committee. The annual dues shall be payable at the initial meeting of
the year. Membership dues must be paid by the June meeting of each year to
enable members to actively engage in any activities sponsored by the Association
without additional charges, if applicable.
Public adjusters will not be eligible for membership!
